And she's a DockDogger! Bec competed for the very first time at the Western Washington Sportsman's Show on Friday, January 24, 2013. She was sitting in First Place for the finals in the Novice Division on Sunday. Since I found out that morning (Sunday) where she was for finals, the 2 of us hightailed it back over. I did let her practice 2 times before hand. Just as well, because the first throw, she hesitated and didn't jump too well, probably 7 feet. The second practice, she didn't hesitate and jumped pretty far. So it comes to the final event itself. I threw the bumper perfectly for the first time and she amazed me by jumping 11'5"! This is out of novice and the Junior Division. That i didn't expect. Of course, she had to do several "Victory laps" in the pool. This had her in First Place for the finals after the first jump.
Second jump wasn't nearly as good since I didn't throw it that well. But that didn't matter because the other dogs in the finals didn't even come close! Miss Bec took First Place for the Novice Division!
